Michael’s is a place where everyone can sit down with family and friends to enjoy good food and company in an intimate casual setting with cozy booths and a bar. Large parties and banquets can be hosted in our elegant Bistro Room.
Born in Chicago, and growing up amongst the farms and valleys of the Yakima Valley area, Michael has been in the hospitality industry since 1978. From Hawaii, to St. Louis, to Lake Tahoe, Michael’s many experiences have all come together to help him make what Michael’s Seafood and Steakhouse is today.
He was on the opening team at the historic Hotel Marble Works in San Francisco, California. After moving to Lake Tahoe, Michael worked as an organizer and server of many large parties and banquets, as well as working as a private butler to some of the biggest names in Hollywood, serving the likes of Johnny Cash, Wayne Newton, and Dean Martin.
From the famous Union Station in St. Louis, to many other independent and chain restaurants, Michael gained vast experience working in almost every part of the restaurant, from line chef to lead waiter as well as continuing his work in the banquet and catering areas.
Growing up, the Lynch family meals were just that, family coming together to share not only a meal, but each other. Mrs. Lynch would use produce from her organic garden and their own home raised beef from the backyard, to help create these most memorable meals. When Michael decided to move back to his home state of Washington, it was with love for the family gathering, making the meal an event that helped him decide to open his own restaurant. The Port Angeles area was a great place that could supply the many local, fresh products Michael wanted to share with his guests in a comfortable, but classic environment.
Michael currently lives in downtown Port Angeles, with his daughter, Scarlett. The restaurant is a labor of love for Michael and is part of his every day life. Many evenings Michael’s father, Bill, can be found greeting guests as well. Michael’s is truly a family run restaurant.
Michael’s Seafood and Steakhouse was opened in 2001, and has become one of the top restaurants in the area.
